asshole parasites

scumsucking asshole parasites.
ugh. argh. ack.

The promotional fee for the client (desktop) license is $199.
The promotional fees for server licenses are:
Right to use SCO IP in a Linux distribution
Promotional License Fee
with 1 CPU $699
with 2 CPUs $1,149
with 4 CPUs $2,499
with 8 CPUs $4,999
Additional single CPU $749
The promotional license fee for embedded devices is $32 per device.

Why is SCO charging so much for the right to use SCO IP in Linux when most of the code in the Linux distribution is not SCO IP?
SCO has invested hundreds of millions in the development of UNIX and is therefore entitled to a reasonable return on its investment. SCO believes that major portions of the 2.4 and later versions of the Linux kernel are unauthorized derivative works of SCO UNIX IP.

I wasn’t really upset about this until recently and now that this “license” for Linux has emerged can it be any more obvious what these idiots are really after? I just hate these guys and I don’t even run Linux. I feel bad for even linking them. Intellectual property lawyer bullshit. You want people to pay how much and for what exactly? There’s always got to be some greedy bastard trying to make money in an underhanded and undeserved fashion. Why can’t people make their living by doing good things for people. I suppose this isn’t a “living” so much as “revenue generating litigation.” Absolutely no soul.

  1. the lack of “good-doers” within the upper class is directly proportional to the unprofitable nature of the business of “being nice.”
    cold calculation pays, “nice” costs…
remember nice as you go, remember nice when you get there.
