‘not January anymore’ update
I know somebody out there checks this thing, sooo… Mom: I’m doing fine. The work situation is great. I’ve been working alot but I’m excited about everything I’ll be doing. The commute in the morning is nearly all down hill so all I have to worry about is my eyes tearing up and my pants getting caught in the pedals.
My first full day to work I had a flat bike tire. Dreading the walk to work when I have a perfectly functional bike, I took a chance that the bike shop down the block would be open before work started. Sadly, the shopkeep ended up getting there a wee bit after the indicated time of 10. Luckily Hans was cool when I called to say I’d be a little late and I ended up walking out with a free set of tire levers along with a spare tube and pant leg keeper/reflector thingy.
The ride back home gets steeper the closer I get to home and the last block is a real heart pounder. With my chest drumming in my ears if it’s super late I try to calm down enough to relax and go to sleep. Of course I should be ashamed for being so out of shape because I saw not one, but two people pedaling up the main street that goes up the hill I live on, which probably amounts to 10 or 12 blocks steeper than my last block.
Though there’s a fair amount of moisture, grey and fog I’ve only had to brave a strong rain once so far. I’m glad I can finally make use of those fenders. I definitely need a hair cut really bad. I’ve basically gone without since my interview at PopCap in October. Yikes. It’s fun to see what my wispy hair will do depending on all the environmental factors and whether or not I put a hat on. Generally laughter or sadness prevail over a sense of satisfaction when the fates are your stylist. That and Chako likes to chime in with “Duck Tales, a-woo-ooh.”
I’m chipping away at the boxes and trying not to get too swept up with shoot-em-up computer games against my co-workers. Okay… that last part is mostly crap because I work for a game company. It’s part of my JOB! There is a good reason I never started playing them at home. I should be busy sorting and cataloging my records! Oh man. Even when I get the non-$1 ones finished there will still be a mountain of crap in the house. The priority will have to be on the largest and most useless items first. Grab myself by the collar and HEAVE HO.
