interior decorum

Our living room/dining room has the most jacked layout. I’m not a genius at interior design but I’m heavily involved in the placement of things. Arranging, sorting, juxtaposing, etc. these are things I like to do. This living room has me knackered but the problems are associated with the work spaces that have to be integrated into the house as a whole. (disc jockeying, drawing, computing, eating, sleeping, gaming) ANYWAY… I wish I could just pluck out the fireplace that so beautifully and uselessly occupies a corner of our apartment as I know its never going to see a lick of use. We ain’t got no bearskin rug and I ain’t gonna sip wine with my lady listening to the Midnight Love compilation 8-track from K-tel. Too bad we can’t store the vaccuum cleaner in there. Every house really needs one non-bedroom closet, and NOT a linen closet – though we do appreciate the linen closet we have.

The gleaning of crap will continue but I know I’ve got a certain amount of accumulation that will remain. Shelves are your friend as long as they’re tasteful and not looming in every corner. I will figure it out but dag nabbit… I suppose I can’t complain that the apartment isn’t perfect. (I also hope the march of the ants will cease at some point.)

My weekends better start becoming more productive… oh yeah, maybe if I wasn’t tippy tapping I could be getting something done.

  1. Perhaps you could just smatter it with goat blood and miscellaneous scrawlings and tell people its a demon summoning chamber. They will admire the brickwork for sure then.
