long week

I watched a really obtuse movie about time travel tonight. It was interesting enough to keep me awake but could have been a little more clear in the telling.

I had a rough week at work, not because of tons of things that I had to accomplish but rather a few things that I tried to get finished were entirely tedious and uncooperative. I’d prefer my worth at work be shown by surges of productivity in new projects instead of side-long glances at stale efforts that limp becoming only slightly less broken than they were when I started. I imagine the weekend should be somewhat useful in reviving my mood.

Say a prayer for my mom and her safekeeping. Do the same for yours just for good measure.

I rearranged my house a bit and I’m pleased with the results… I just keep chipping away at the clutter and I can see progress. Seattle is starting to brighten up a bit and warmer weather is on the way. Since I have some design work coming down the pipeline at work I’d prefer to warm up with some artwork here at the homestead. If I can’t get the easel up and some protective barriers for the splatter, I’ll at least get the new table set up to draw and doodle on.

Shout out to The Silver Bullet and Rachel for helping me get my groove on at The War Room last weekend. True pals with no shortage of soul.

Kristin’s recent visit was too short and I can never get enough animals and nature when she’s running me around non-stop for three days straight. I’m not complaining since many of the destinations were my idea. Sun bears are AWESOME. Sloth bears are pretty crazy too. It’s all a blur but a great one – never enough time.

Time to crash. I think I need to post pictures soon. It’s been too long. But before I go… this picture is almost better than the phrase “taking the Browns to the Superbowl.” (Feel free to refer to this imagery if prompted by an event nearing the magnitude of any one of Greg’s famous one-man pot roast banquets.)

  1. I saw the editor of Newsweek this morning on Meet the Press’s annual “Religion In America” episode. It’s always broadcast at Easter, though year by year they acknowledge other faiths with panelists. Anyhow, I almost kicked in the tv at some of the editor’s comments, then a priest said stuff that the Welsh would consider equally twp twp (which is to say stupid), and it occurred to me they’re all part of the vast electronics industry conspiracy to get me to replace my tele with an HDTV beast. I admit, I’m intrigued, but I’m not going to be played like that. My feets remain on the ground, brother.

Hey: Love and health to Mama G. Good to know it was caught early and is being corrected swiftly.

    All best,

  2. how about four hotdogs, with mustard (only) on white buns, half a bag of bbq kettle chips, a slice of pineapple upsidedown cake and six molson canadians.

    flush twice.
