the bb ass-streme

Toyota is finally releasing their really cool squared off mini car/van thingy in the US. I’ve long lusted after the miniature flying barn door when I spotted it in some Japanese magazines several years ago. Sadly, it is being jacked up by hype and a moronic attachment to the, “hey you want to be sexy and cool because you live an extreme lifestyle you radical hipster you, eh bro? Well just sport this lifestyle attachment and you will be totally X’ed off yo.” Just give me the square fucking car and give it to me cheap. I don’t know why I even bother to whinge because my ass can’t afford a new muffler for my ‘89 hoopty Civic. Why can’t we have a product today that isn’t totally crossed out, crossed over and x’ed out. I wonder if one of the options is to lop off all the ground effects kits and get it in primer grey.

The Scion bbX. A razor scooter your whole family can get radical with.

The ccX looks like a macho, ass meat container. Vin Diesel is sure to be in the commercial. And whatever happend to that Ford concept car designed by Marc Newson (the O21C Concept Car from 1999) ? I bet you could make that into a cheap hoopty for the masses. I suppose it would be nice to get an electric or hybrid car too. Then I can save on gas when I go trolling for skanks. Have you ever gotten any play while you was riding your bicycle or stakedoarb? I ain’t never.

  2. I saw a few of those teaser commercials on television for the Element that didn’t show the entire car for very long and flashed some brief glimpses of parts of it. Even stranger still, Chako and I saw one in person in the parking lot at the Olive Garden one night. I made her drive over so I could check it out. I was a little disappointed in the overall effect but it is nice and sort of smallish and chunky. It was night but I still thought the piecemeal treatment of the fenders and rear upper portion seemed a bit off. I like the techie look but I’m not sure if everything is carried off well enough for my taste. I suppose the right color would change things and one would have to decide if the mental image to conjour up would be “affordable small pod truck/utility vehicle of the future” or “tacky plastic XTREEEEEM lifestyle accessory for affluent jackass trendmasters.” Where should I put the aftermarket airfoil and neon kits? I think I still like the new honda civic hatchback for its size and no nonsense styling, but it only has two doors. Do any of these things come in an electrical/hybrid version? How much more expensive to maintain or less reliable are the electrical/hybrid cards in the short or long term?

  3. there’s always room for neon & spoilers. never fear! don’t forget the spinning rims!

    http://www.superbuytires.com/wheels_by_brand.html?brand=Spinning+wheels bling!

nothing that big and clunky comes in electric/hybrid, and i assume the reason is that electric/hybrid is lacking in power. i hear the honda civic hybrid is pretty weak going uphills, etc.

and yeah, those element commercials are really gen-x… Xtreme to the max, dude.

  4. what y’all want for nuthin’?
what you need is a feckin new el camino….
i swear i saw one the other day.
this is one that should have never been remade.
that’s what you get when a truck has a supercrewcab and a bed that can carry one plastic carton of potted seedlings, plus your favorite toothbrush because there is no room for a glovebox upfront with the airbags, 18 cupholders, extra cellphone jacks and rack of switches for positioning the seats, moonroof, vcr’s , and extraextras….
at least the camino is up front and ugly, not just plastic and muscley and a pure gas hog.
