DOD ~ DUM ?

This article by The Register from the UK about a grand scale of poor organization and security at a U.S. Department of Defense website is rather interesting.

A search here:
http://www.google.com/search?q=.mil+domain
pointed me to a particular DOD URL.

Going to this particular URL is sort of scary because by clicking on a certain link you are presented with a page that states that the “use” of the current page you are viewing is your consent to “monitoring.” If you want to be monitored, by all means proceed:
http://www.nic.mil/

You gotta think that they have some sort of filtering procedure in place. Sure there is such bloat and beauracracy with so many contractors doing so much work, but someone has to be the conduit/gatekeeper for this stuff. Accessing these materials is possible – you can get to this info – but will your requests make it through?

It would be fun to have slowpencil.mil though. I could make a little turtle icon with a gun turret instead of a shell. Obviously they don’t uhh….
do this.
(no really do that, really
[if you have flash
{even if you didn’t read this other shit}])
