Another thrift store surprise! I was pissed that my Best of the Great Songs of Christmas purchase turned out to contain 25 All Time Family Favories (blecccch). Turning to my Rhythm Sing Along With Mitch I noticed an extra record next to the enclosed song sheet lyrics. I played through the all male chorus accompanied by blasts of accordion and then popped out the extra record. It turns out to be a 1979 album called Brazilia by John Klemmer. The title track also happens to be on my favorite acid jazz mixtape by an old friend from college, DJ Yosh. I know I’ll never collect all the great songs on that tape (which are actually not listed) but what I would really like is to find out what Yosh is up to these days. Where are you Yosh!? The last time I heard from him was back at school at SIUC and I hadn’t started my turntable fixation. I wonder how I can track him down? Google has been no help at all.
